Simone Champagne understands that to create jobs we must get government out of the way. Attracting new businesses through tax credits and supporting existing businesses with lower tax rates will help our economy grow. Simone Champagne is committed to cutting waste in government and putting more money in the pockets of Louisiana families and businesses. And no one has fought harder to oppose the reckless moratorium that ravaged  our oil and gas industry. She testified before a Congressional Sub-Committee on how south Louisiana has been impacted by this misguided policy, and continues to work to restore deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

Improving Education for a Brighter Future
Education is vital to preparing our children for a successful future. Simone is dedicated to improving our education system by empowering parents and making sure they have a vital role in their child's future. Simone Champagne also believes that we must redirect our educational dollars into the classroom where they are needed most. Every child in Louisiana deserves a world class education and through accountability, high standards and increased choices in education we can do just that.

Hurricane Protection/Coastal Restoration
Simone Champagne is still fighting for coastal residents impacted by recent hurricanes. She is also a strong advocate of developing means to protect our coast, and its residents, from the effects of future storms.

Opposing Big Government Healthcare
Simone is 100% opposed to government-run healthcare. She believes that healthcare decisions should be made between you and your doctor: not some bureaucrat in Washington D.C. Simone Champagne voted for the Louisiana Healthcare Freedom Act (HB 1474) to protect Louisiana families from the big government healthcare plan. Simone Champagne will continue to improve our healthcare system and to protect your right to make healthcare decisions for your family.

Protecting our Families and Fighting for Life
As a mother of five and grandmother of three, Simone Champagne is pro-life and pro-family. She is committed to keeping our family values intact and protecting life and the unborn. For three years, Simone was named an “Outstanding Family Advocate” by the Louisiana Family Forum for her pro-family voting record. She also voted for HB 1247 which prohibited insurance coverage of elective abortions. We can trust Simone Champagne to stand up for our families and stand up for our values.
